Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, birth date, or other term entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. The provider processes the request and supplies its response. Macon County Warrant Records does not retain or log those query terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact submission may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may record standard technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure visits, popular pages, and exit points. Analytics providers combine this traffic information into reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may alter how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Warrant Data on File
Macon County Warrant Records does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of warrants or personal warrant information. It identifies official routes through the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Circuit Clerk, and issuing courts. Alabama has no single public statewide warrant repository. This operation is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the provider’s privacy policy, retention rules, and disclosure practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff, court, state, legal-aid, or third-party services. Once a visitor leaves this domain, the destination’s privacy terms apply. Read them before providing personal details.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select interest-based ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system is fully secure, however, and absolute protection against unauthorized access cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A verified report that a minor supplied data will be addressed by deleting that information.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection laws may provide additional rights based on residence. The Alabama Open Records Law, Ala. Code §36-12-40, governs access to public writings but does not convert private visitor data into a government warrant record. At a minimum, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
